Brow Lift Plastic Surgery
Forehead lift or brow lift cosmetic surgery can be performed using less invasive endoscopic and short incision techniques.
The surgeon will create the incisions in the hair-bearing scalp to keep them discreet. But sometimes the incision may be required in the natural forehead creases. Long incision or open brow lift may be used only if substantive correction of the forehead muscle and tissue is involved.
At the time of initial consultation, the surgeon will discuss the steps involved in the forehead lift procedure. Patients often feel more confident once they know what the procedure entails. Pragmatic and astounding plastic surgeon Dr. Paul McCluskey provides brow lift / forehead lift to patients in Atlanta, Buckhead, Georgia, and surrounding locations in the amazing Peach State.
Open Brow Lift
As a first step in this surgery, local anesthesia and sedation will be administered to the patient to keep them comfortable and asleep during the surgery. Thereafter, the surgeon will place a long incision horizontally across the forehead, either in the hairline or a natural forehead crease to keep the subsequent scarring minimal.
Excess fat tissue will be removed through the incision, and loose muscles may be tightened. Loose skin will be trimmed away, and the surgeon will pull the remaining skin taut. The brow will be sutured in its new, youthful position.
Endoscopic Brow Lift
Once the patient is placed under local anesthesia and mild sedation, the surgeon will place tiny incisions in the scalp. An endoscopic camera will be inserted into the deeper tissue through the incision so that the surgeon can view the underlying structures on a monitor.
This will allow the surgeon to perform the brow lift in a more precise and less invasive manner, resulting in reduced discomfort and downtime.
Limited Incision Brow Lift
In this hybrid technique, the surgeon will utilize the elements of both open and endoscopic surgeries. The surgeon will create small incisions to gently lift the outer area of the eyebrows without using an endoscope. The incisions will be hidden in the temporal hairline. While it is not possible to correct the brow’s central part with this technique, it can reduce wrinkles and fine lines at the corner of the eyes, which are known as crow’s feet.
The surgeon will determine the right brow lift technique depending on the degree of correction required and the patient’s personal preferences. Committed and sharp plastic surgeon Dr. Paul McCluskey receives patients from Atlanta, Buckhead, Georgia, and other suburbs and neighborhoods in this part of the country for brow lift / forehead lift surgery and other procedures.
Combined Surgery
If brow lift is performed in combination with another surgical procedure, the procedure steps may have to be altered. If the sagging brows occur along with droopy upper lids and loose skin around the eyelids, it may be necessary to correct all these conditions together in order to create natural looking results.
A custom surgical plan for a brow lift or forehead lift will be created in consultation with the patient. The plan will account for the patient’s natural hairline, degree of skin laxity, and the specific cosmetic needs of the patient.
